I know what i'm about to say doesn't help you with your laptop but i would wager that if you hook another monitor up to your laptop via the vga connector it will probably work.If it does work then it's definately a screen resolution problem. Thank you again for your continued help though, I really do appreciate it! I've tried contacting Atari but they haven't got back to me yet, hopefully if and when they do they may have some kind of solution. I'm afriad my settings already had the resolution correct:Īnd still nothing. have u put your native screen resolution to something like 1024 x 768 or 1280x1024? This game doesn't like some odd resolutions and 1080i or 1080p have to be speacially modified to work. Originally posted by Crazed Possum:i just noticed your using a laptop. Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 Platinum combines the excitement of rollercoasters with the fun of a great strategy simulation. Here is my options file ( one person even copied and pasted mine onto theirs and it worked for them. BUT, the APPDATA folder is a hidden folder and if you do not change the way you view files ( in Windows control panel ) you will never be able to see this second and most in portant file. other is located in your C:\Users\main users.directory. Is there anything else I could possibly try? I know reverting to Windows 7 would probably be easiest but that feels like a bit of a step backwards.Ģ. I think it's time you think about jumping on the SteamPlay bandwagon.Originally posted by oldgregg42:Thanks for the suggestions but I'm afraid none of them worked for me there was no '2nd options' file to delete, and changing the screen resolution in the 'options' text file also had no effect, it still displayed nothing while the startup and menu sounds still played. I'm sorry Aspyr, but you could have changed my mind by simply offering Wild for $20 dollars and I would have been slightly happier and wouldn't have had this to say. The Mac porting houses trying to charge premium prices for games that they port over two or more years later no longer has to be swallowed. I have been a supporter of Aspyr over the years, but sadly I'm starting to hope Valve and Steam blows them out of the water. In addition, I can acquire the PC version of this for a full $20 dollars less via Steam on my Boot Camp partition (which isn't necessary as I already own all three packs for PC). That includes repurchasing the original and Soaked pack that I already own. I already own RollerCoaster Tycoon and RollerCoaster Tycoon Soaked for the Mac, however Aspyr feels I should pay a full $50 dollars to add Wild to my existing installation. My review is more about how Mac porting companies still don't seem to get it when it comes to customer relations. Now most machines are powerful enough to run the game at its full potential, this was an issue originally. The game is great, I've enjoyed this since it originally came out for the PC.
